چکیده

Non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) is mainly characterized by excessive fat accumulation in the liver. It spans a spectrum of diseases from hepatic steatosis to non-alcoholic steatohepatitis (NASH), fibrosis, cirrhosis, and hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC). Brassica juncea rich glucosinolates has been proven possess many potential pharmacological properties, including hypoglycemic, anti-oxidation, anti-inflammatory, anti-carcinogenic activities. This study aims investigate whether whole-plant (WBJ) its extracts (BGE) have hepatoprotective effects against high-fat diet (HFD)-induced NAFLD further explore mechanism underlying this process vivo vitro. WBJ treatment significantly reduced body fat, dyslipidemia, steatosis, injury, inflammation; also reversed antioxidant enzyme activity attenuate oxidative stress HFD-fed rat Moreover, BGE enhanced activation AMPK reduce SREBPs, acid synthase, HMG-CoA reductase but increased expression CPT-I PPARα improve steatosis. In addition, could ameliorate inhibiting TNF-α NF-κB. Based on above results, demonstrates that HFD-induced injury. Therefore, these treatments represent an unprecedented hope toward improved strategies for NAFLD.

Non-invasive biomarkers in non-alcoholic steatohepatitis-induced hepatocellular carcinoma.

Non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) is by far the most common form of chronic liver disease worldwide, affecting adults as well as children. Under the term of NAFLD there is a wide spectrum of diseases ranging from simple steatosis to the non-alcoholic steatohepatitis (NASH), which can progress to cirrhosis and hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC). Several mechanisms have been described to infl...

Non-alcoholic steatohepatitis in children.

Non-alcoholic steatohepatitis (NASH) is an important liver disease in children; it can cause cirrhosis in children. The disease mechanism involves hepatic insulin resistance with hyperinsulinemia and changes in certain adipocytokines and inflammatory mediators. The differential diagnosis of childhood NASH includes metabolic disorders, drug hepatotoxicity, and alcoholic hepatitis in adolescent p...

[Non-alcoholic fatty liver disease and non-alcoholic steatohepatitis].

Non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) and non-alcoholic steatohepatitis (NASH) are the hepatic manifestations of the metabolic syndrome. Since the prevalence of obesity and consequently of the metabolic syndrome is steadily increasing, the different types of NAFLD are nowadays the most common cause of liver injury in North America. The development of NASH and fatty liver cirrhosis occurs af...

IL-6 Deficiency Attenuates Murine Diet-Induced Non-Alcoholic Steatohepatitis

BACKGROUND The role of inflammation in the pathogenesis of non-alcoholic steatohepatitis (NASH), a common cause of liver disease, is still poorly understood. This study aimed at assessing the involvement of a major inflammatory cytokine, IL-6, in NASH. MATERIALS AND METHODS Steatohepatitis was induced by feeding wild-type or IL-6(-/-) mice for 5 weeks with a methionine and choline-deficient (...
